Luckily documentaries do not need to have the fully animated-after-effected
equipment, because in the new era of digital film making and the speedy
progress of giga and terra bytes almost everything is possible. I
am self-editing most of my works with Final Cut Pro HD and do not
need an oversized post-production.
Nevertheless editing is the most important part of production, setting
the speed, building up tensions and last but not least tuning the
final tone to a piece. When it comes to the plot I am definitely a
traditionalist, following the chapters of ancient comedy and tragedy.
Five acts are all you need, because the final intention is to tell
a story, nothing more or less. I do not want viewers to obey my opinion
or morals, it’s all made to think about it for yourself and
decide what it means to you.
